Weekly Menu Plan {Sept 30-Oct 7th}

by GettingFreedom on October 1, 2012

Last week was rather interesting to say the least.  It seems as if my mind was absent while I was in the kitchen!

It all started on Monday {I didn’t put a lot of weight in those mishaps, because frankly, Monday is always a mess!}–which was one of our busiest days of the week.  I was teaching a Grocery Savings Workshop as part of the World’s Largest Synchronized Grocery Savings Workshop and Willie had a men’s Bible Study in another town.  Nothing major–but I completely forgot to make the cornbread.  Thankfully we had more than enough crackers.

On Wednesday I totally spaced to add the chicken into our pot pie {as I confessed on my facebook page}.  I thought I was a genius when I decided to use my home canned vegetable soup as the base–and when we went to eat Kait asked me where the chicken was.  Doh!  To add insult to injury, I also spaced to make the Cherry Bars!

I was fully  hoping that I would redeem myself last night when I made {completely from scratch} French Onion Soup and Pear Crisp.  After 4 hours the soup was finished, and I was excited!  Word to the wise–Make sure your family likes French Onion Soup before you make it!

Here’s to hoping the rest of this week goes a bit smoother on the food front!
