Shew! It’s over!

I LOVE the 4th of July! It symbolizes so much, our freedom as a nation, and our freedom of worshiping freely. We take these things for granted daily, and it is so wonderful to be able to set aside a whole weekend (generally) and reflect on the greatness of our nation! This year we did things a little differently than we normally do because all the flooding changed our main firework watching location. However, we had so much fun this year, and we stayed closer to home than normal. With gas the way it is, we were kind of thankful that our main location wasn’t doing it this year! We started out our July 4th festivities on June 29th. Our church is right beside the airport that puts a big show on every year. We decided to get in on it and have some free activities for kids on our church grounds. What an awesome turn out…and so much fun!

This is Mr. Noah. He loves his face paint!

Kaitlyn wanted to watch fireworks with her friends. So it was just me and the boys. Nicholas painted ALL over his arms! Although I wasn’t the biggest fan of this particular art work…it was better than the tattoos Kait had ALL over her arms, neck, legs and feet!!! That was a chore and a half to get all of them off before our zoo trip!

In addition to this 4th of July celebration, we had another one at the church last night. This one is the church’s actual one where we have a barbeque, games, and a big fireworks show of our own. My husband and I, along with 2 other families were in charge of putting this one together. It was a lot of work, but a success nonetheless.

Nothing like a Watermelon Eating Contest!!! Kaitlyn eats like a bird..but she tried!!!

And the kids LOVED the waterslide!

Hope everyone had a happy and safe 4th of July weekend! We had a blast!! (And I turned 26 in the process of it all!)

(I never can get very good pictures of fireworks!)
