Share A Heart Campaign

by GettingFreedom on February 17, 2011

Every where you turn there is a McDonald’s Restaurant.  Anymore it seems as if every single person on the planet has been to one, more than likely that very morning.

During the month of February, McDonald’s locations across the country are joining together for  Share A Heart Campaign.  When in the store, you will be asked if you would like to purchase a red paper heart for $1.  You then proudly sign your name and display it on McDonald’s wall.  Every single dollar goes directly to the Ronald McDonald House, which operates solely on donations.

After spending 2 weeks in our local Ronald McDonald’s House, I have a greater understanding of exactly what they do.  It is an amazing charity, that we will forever hold dear to us.  Being able to stay close to our precious newborn baby while he was in the NICU, and having a place to call “home” in the midst of our chaos was unimaginable–but that is exactly what the  RMH is!  The House the Love Built.  We were amazed when our local house chose us to represent our county for the Share A Heart Campaign. Precious Blake has been spotted at area McDonald’s as well as our local papers. :)

So, the next time you fly through the drive thru for your morning joe, or evening snack–Buy a paper heart and help provide a home for families with sick babies/children.

You can help the RMH year around by collecting pop tabs, or dropping by donations.  There are lots of small things you can do to help in BIG ways!
