Save Money On Children’s Clothes

by Kristina @ GettingFreedom on January 20, 2012

I’ve heard the saying never wait to have kids until you can afford them, because then you’ll never have kids. Kids do cost money, but they are so worth it.  Diapers, clothes and toys add up. But who says your children have to have the newest toys and clothes all the time? I love shopping at places like goodwill or the DAV resale store for my kids. Sometimes though, I don’t have the time to go to the city and trade in my kids old clothes and toys.

That’s where the thredUP community comes in.

ThredUP makes is easy to hand-down your children’s outgrown items and earn cashback. Just use FREE USPS boxes or Concierge bags to get rid of the unwanted items.  With thredUP you can earn up to $10 for each great box you sell and up to $20 for each bag you stuff and return. In return, you can pick new boxes that start at just $9 and come full of great kids stuff ~ without having to leave the comfort of your own home.

How does it work?

  • Gather all the books (or other children’s items) your child no longer uses, and list them by the boxful on thredUP.
  • Sign-up for free and thredUP will send you complimentary empty USPS boxes (if you don’t want to wait, go grab them for free at your local post office).
  • When another mom picks your box of books, thredUP lets you know. thredUP generates the shipping label and scheduldes home pick-up, so you can send books without leaving the house.

It’s even easier than Goodwill and you’ll send your family’s once loved books directly to another child who wants them. Get going, it’s time to thredUP!

{The average thredUP box has more than 15 items}
