Making Cake Pops {Salvaged Sunday}

by GettingFreedom on February 18, 2012

It’s Sunday again, and I’m excited to see what projects you have whipped up using salvaged materials.

Last weekend our daughter turned 10 {!}.  We celebrated as a family in the city, and she and her daddy had an ice skating date.  She gave me strict instructions that I was not allowed. Period.

This weekend we had her party with her friends. It was actually a double birthday party with one of her best friends whose birthday is the day after hers.  This was great so we didn’t have to attend two separate parties.  But as the cake maker, there was a lot of pressure on me to have enough cake.  Ya know?

Excuse the picture, this is the only one I snapped and it’s from my phone.

We decided to make 2 cakes, one the number one and one a zero, making a ten, but allowing each girl to have their own cake.  In doing this, I ended up cutting out some of the cake–and I feared I wouldn’t have enough for everyone.

So I made Cake Pops out of the leftovers, which we typically would have just snacked on, or tossed.

I’m no pro at cake pops–but you can find a  tutorial on how to make cake pops here.
