The last few years have been entertaining to look around my home and see what items I can make on my own instead of relying on the grocery store. It’s amazing to me that with a simple mind-shift, I view everything so differently now.
Pre-made seasonings are no exception. Sure, buying a packet is pretty handy. On the flip side, though, having another thing to mess with is annoying. If you already have a stocked spice cabinet, why not put it to good use? Those spices will begin to lose their flavor and potency after a while anyway, so you might as well use them up!
Ingredients
- 4 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp cumin
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground red pepper
Instructions
- Combine all of the spices and mix well.
Notes
Mix as much or as little of this recipe as you want. Store in an airtight container to help preserve freshness. Use 3 Tbsp to equal one seasoning packet.
