Homemade Cleaners:: Orange Oil

by GettingFreedom on July 30, 2012

The last few months I’ve been experimenting a lot with making my own homemade cleaners.  I’ve found that not only are homemade cleaners frugal, but they use ingredients that I already have in my pantry and they perform just as good {if not better!} than my favorite commercial cleaners.

Homemade Orange Oil Cleaner is one of my top cleaners now!  The fresh smell leaves my house smelling clean and inviting.   There are no chemicals, and it’s organic {if you use organic oranges} and 100% natural!

If you’re looking to use up some oranges really fast so you can try out this homemade cleaner–why not can sliced oranges? ;)

Homemade Cleaners: Orange Oil

Homemade Cleaners: Orange Oil

Ingredients

  • Orange Peels {preferably organic}
  • Distilled White Vinegar
  • Spray Bottle
  • Water
  • Glass Jar

Instructions

  1. Place the orange peels into a glass jar, and cover with vinegar.
  2. Keep in a cool, dark spot for 3-4 weeks before using.
  3. When you're ready, add one part of the orange infused vinegar to three parts water in a spray bottle. For tough surfaces, such as greasy stove tops, no need to dilute--just spray on straight.
  4. Add more vinegar to your orange peels, and repeat process! Every time you peel an orange, don't forget to add it into the vinegar and keep it submersed.
