Dear Friends

by GettingFreedom on July 27, 2011

If you follow me on Facebook, you probably already know where I’ve been the last few days.  If not, let me fill you in as much as I can.  Last weekend, my daughter took part in the Show-Me-State Games {for soccer} up in Central Missouri.  Our week and weekend, was full and disappeared in a flash.  Sunday evening when I returned home, I found out that my mother had been readmitted to the hospital.

Monday morning I found out that things were not looking very good, and she was in a great deal of pain.  Tuesday, the children and I packed up and went to visit her in the hospital.  It was evident to me that her health had taken a turn. The children and I came back home late Tuesday evening, and packed our bags and prepared to stay back in my hometown as long as I was needed.

My mother was discharged from the hospital shortly after I left, knowing that our purpose at this point was just to keep her comfortable.  Today has been a very hard day for me.  I’ve seen her yell out in pain, and ask why she was going through this.  I’ve seen her laugh, and I’ve seen her cry.  I’ve seen her stare at me blankly and confused.

A talk with her doctor confirmed all of our thoughts.  Her days left here on this Earth are numbered.  I ask for your prayers during this time.  My family is having a hard time dealing with this sudden turn, and also remembering the death of my grandmother {mom’s mother} one year ago in August.

Hope to be back soon,

Phoebe

I’m so sorry to hear of the pain your mom has endured. I read the post about how she is your hero and I can see why. She, you, and your family are in my prayers. At times like this reading the scripture from Rev 21:3,4 really help. I hope this helps you too.
