A Sparkling Sink

by GettingFreedom on July 27, 2010

My house is absolute chaos.  Project Major Home Addition is still in full swing, which makes it quite hard to have any form of normalcy.  Windows and doors are being changed out–some are being done away with so there is plywood in their place (for now).  Walls are coming down, and my decor consists of insulation walls.

My floors–well we won’t go there. ;)

The one thing that remains the same:  A Sparkling Sink.

Without it, my house would feel even more chaotic than what it really is.  I must have a sparkling sink every night before I go to bed.  It just starts my morning out right.

What makes your morning/day go smoothly?

A clean kitchen… if it can’t all be clean, then a clean space of countertop. If my kitchen isn’t clean, my world is out of balance. Not that it is ALWAYS clean, because I sure do make big messes in it every day, but I always like to start with a clean kitchen.

When I come downstairs in the morning and my kitchen is a mess, my whole day is off.

The rest of the house could be in complete chaos, but if the kitchen is neat and clean, Im happy.

I am with Miriam AND Rona… dramatically speaking, life can be falling apart but if my bed is made and my kitchen is clean I can breathe a sigh of relief.
I don’t have a stainless steel sink but if I did, not only would it have to be clean but it would have to be FREE of water drops marks!

This is so funny! I NEED a clean kitchen, completely clean, when I wake up, otherwise my whole day is messed up! My husband actually was up late helping me do the dishes to make sure the kitchen was clean last night, but always thinks this is a strange habit for me! :) Oh well, at least it’s a good one!

Waking up to a clean sink does make a difference. I wish I could do it more often.

Not sure if you’ve read about Fly Lady yet. She advocates starting with a clean sink. I love her link and emails. They keep me inspired. http://www.flylady.net.

I’m right there with ya! A clean sink and kitchen makes the next morning go much more smoothly! Ideally I’d like a spotless house, lunches made, and clothes ready but that happens…oh, about once a year!!
