Unexpected Absence

by GettingFreedom on June 10, 2010

Life has been everything but normal around here.  Friday, June 4th I went into labor at 33 weeks gestation.  Talk about scary!  At 1pm we delivered Blake William via emergency C-Section, and he weighed in at 4lbs 9.5 ounces.  While he’s doing fairly well, he is still in the NICU in the city–while our other 3 children are staying with their aunt back in our hometown.  To say that it’s been stressful would be an understatement.

We would appreciate any and all prayers.  Hopefully we will be back home soon and our life as a family of 6 will begin.

Welcome Blake!!! Thank you for the post and photo. He’s precious! Are you staying at a McDonald house, with family, hotel?

You made it through a hospital scare as a young lady. This time around you have the support of a husband. Make sure you tell him you love him and are thankful to share this time together . :)

He is so cute!! I have been there and not once but twice. It is not easy, but oh so worth it. One baby decided to come at 31 weeks while we were out of town. It was crazy!! If you need anyone to talk to please feel free. Take care of yourself.

Welcome Blake! Prayers for quick (but healthy) discharge from NCIU. Phoebe, I can’t imagine how scary that could have been for you. I was expecting my girls to come early, so I wasn’t alarmed when they wanted to join us 5 weeks before their due date. Congrats on your new addition, yes, he is super cute! Get some rest. :)

My heart is with you. My son was only born 2 weeks early, but he was born with kidney disease and so we spent 2 months in the NICU with him. I cannot imagine how hard that is with other children.

So glad you are doing well. This brings back memories for me. Our twins were born at 33 weeks. Cory Drake weighed 4 lb 9 oz and Cody Blake weighed 3 lb 15 oz…… They are 9 now and just fine. :0) I wish your family many more blessings to get to share with Blake. :0)
