Coffee Bean Candle Holder

by GettingFreedom on March 15, 2010

Back in the day, I was a designer for Home and Garden Party, now known as Celebrating Home.  I absolutely loved it, and their products. One of my favorite decorating ideas of all time came from a fellow designer, who just so happens to be my neighbor.

It’s so easy and you probably have almost everything at home already.

You will need:

  • A deep glass bowl or candle holder
  • Candle (already in a candle holder) that can fit inside your dish, with room around it.  Preferably not a fruity or “clean” smell.  I usually stick with a Vanilla or sometimes Hazelnut.
  • Whole Coffee Beans–your choice in flavor

Pour the coffee beans into your glass dish, fill about 1/2-3/4 of the way.  Add candle, and pour coffee beans around the sides of the candle.  Light your candle, and enjoy the aroma!

The warmth from the burning candle warms up the coffee beans just a bit, and they release a pleasing aroma. While you might think it would be an strong coffee smell, it really isn’t.  I’ve used all different flavors of beans, some sort of chocolate with a hazelnut candle, and this time I’ve got French Vanilla Coffee Beans with a Vanilla candle.  It’s delightful!  Even if you do not want to burn the candle, the coffee beans still give off a slight scent.

The coffee beans will last a very long time before they lose their smell and need to be tossed.  For that matter, you if you have any stale beans in your cupboard that are no longer good for brewing coffee, put them to good use!
