In any event, today we (our church family) are celebrating the kick off of the Fall Season. If I had to pick a favorite season, it would be fall. It screams soups, comfort foods, beautiful colors and sweaters, which equals love in my book.
I’m going to try a different menu plan format, and see how it works. I might end up going back to the old one.
Sunday:
- Breakfast:
Bacon and Egg SanwichesCereal. Had to leave earlier than expected to get extra supplies for the fall kickoff. - Lunch: Fall Kickoff at church. Huge BBQ planned; bringing Caramel Apple Trifle for dessert.
- Dinner: Snacks. After a big lunch like that, there is no reason for a full-on dinner!
Monday:
- Breakfast: Oatmeal Pancakes w/HM Vanilla Syrup
- Dinner: MeatLoaf. ($3.25) Scallopped Potatoes. ($2, about a ¼ of this recipe) Green Beans. (free from garden)($5.25)(8 servings=.66/ea)
Tuesday:
- Breakfast: Pumpkin Pie Oatmeal. {This is a new dish–Oh.My.Word. does this look good!}
- Dinner: Crockpot Teryiaki Chicken. (I refigured this from last time, it is closer to $4.50)Brown Rice.(.25) Steamed Veggies. ($1)($5.75)(8 servings=.72/ea)
Wednesday:
- Breakfast: Bacon/Egg Sandwiches.
- Dinner: Chicken/Black Bean Quesadillas. ($3) Salad. (.50)($3.50)(8 servings=.44/ea)
Thursday:
- Breakfast: Steel Cut Oats w/bananas
- Dinner: Chilli. ($2.00) HM French Bread. (.40)($2.40)(10 servings=.24/ea)
Friday:
- Breakfast: Smoothies.
- Dinner: Pizza Night! This time we’re going with Pizza Casserole. ($2.50) Salad. (.50) Dessert Pizza. ($1-ish)($4)(8 servings=.50)
Saturday:
- Breakfast: Cinnamon Rolls.
- Lunch: Soccer Games–packed lunch.
- Dinner: Leftovers. (No cost)
Snacks for the week:
- Banana Muffins (using my banana bread recipe, made into muffins.)
- Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
- Granola Bars
Total cost of dinners: $20.90 Average Price per serving= .50/ea

My dad passed away unexpectedly almost 3 years ago and for some reason I've been doing another layer of grieving lately. It comes up when it comes up and I just have to work through it. I'll keep you in my thoughts.
I love your menu plan for this week.

This is the first time I have visited your site and I'm very excited. We, too, are in a journey to eliminate our debt and I love Dave Ramsey! I was touched by your post today. I know how you feel…I lost my father 6 years ago last Wednesday. I don't think it gets easier, but I think we learn how to remember more than just the loss. Praying for you…

Thank you for sharing inspirations for both big and small aspects of life. I'll be trying the pumpkin oatmeal soon I think…
And grace to you as you remember your loss.

love how you post the $ the meal makes. If I could make a weeks worth of meals on $20.00, I'd be well on my way to working my way out of debt. keep up the great work.
