Lasting Memories

by GettingFreedom on September 25, 2009

I came across this picture the other day, I knew that I had to post it for you all to see. This was taken in 2005, Nicholas just turned 5, and Kait would have been about 3 ½.

We had just gotten back to the river bank after gigging for fish.

They are removing the fish scales to get them ready to filet and score them so they can be our dinner.

Hi Phoebe – I love that picture because it reminds me of when I was young. I grew up on the Chesapeake Bay sailing, crabbing and fishing. We were just little tikes catching fish off the pier and I LOVED eating them for breakfast or dinner. I could scale, clean, and fillet a fish by the time I was 8.

I found your blog through your tweet to BlogFrog so I'm visiting to see how I can help. Nice to discover your blog!

Great picture! My parents have one just like it with my brother and I – only I am the older sibling.
