I have just found your blog now, and although you wrote this months ago I just had to comment.
I have a monthly (4 week) menu for our family. I wrote down all the dishes we like and then fitted them in a menu so we were not eating chicken two nights running etc. I then made up a shopping list ensuring that when I went shopping each week I got everything I needed for that weeks menu. I also divided all the cleaning products etc between the 4 weeks so I was checking them regularly and not running out. It means I am not randomly buying things each week, I am only buying the essentials that are required. I have yet though to get brave enough to shop with cash with the amount set in our budget!

I have to thank you! I followed your direction and set up a Home Management Binder and it has helped me tremendously. I even have my husband using it to look up info!

Love that little wipe board. My fridge would make a lovely home for an extra one that you may have :)

Weekly menu plans I have done for a long time; this month I finally plotted out a monthly menu plan and it has been wonderful! I still make a weekly plan too, but planning a whole month at a time means I can easily find a backup option from the monthly menu when I need it.

I love the idea of creating a master shopping list and monthly meal plan. Since I just started my menu planning binder, I might add a section like that! Looking forward to reading the rest of your posts on these subjects.

Lovin' that menu board. ;-)

My binder is a work in progress. I really hope for it to be fully functional soon. Need to SCHEDULE time to look at it each day, I think. Have to make it a habit.

Ooh I like that menu planner you linked to! Nice!

I have a goal of having a master list, but I don't have it yet. As a matter of fact, my binder is still sitting here by my computer waiting to be edited. I'll share it when it is done!

I think Titus2.com has a master grocery list that you can print, which I am thinking may be helpful to get me started. It seems like such a hard thing to get started but I am sure is worth the effort!
