A few weeks ago I finally caved and cashed in some of my SwagBucks. I kept hearing about Jillian Michael’s 30 Day Shred workout video on Twitter, and I really didn’t have anywhere in my budget to pull it from. I knew Swagbucks was the way to go.
Since I was going ahead and ordering the workout video, I decided to go ahead and order some books that I’ve had my eye on.
In my garden, something was completely annihilating my Tomatillo plants, but I had no idea what they were, or how to take care of them. Earlier this year when I bought my seeds, I seen the book Good Bug, Bad Bug but just didn’t have the heart to pay the $16 asking price. It has detailed pictures of beneficial garden bugs, as well as the pests that you need to get rid of. Instead of just telling you to spray your plants with some form of pesticide, it tells you different organic ways to go about getting rid of them. That is my kind of book! And, it saved my tomatillos from going non-organic real fast. Not only do I love this book, but so do my children. And, with it’s thick pages (that are easy to wipe off, I might add) I don’t mind them looking at it, or me carrying it outside to inspect my bugs.
I also ordered another book, this one was a detailed book on herbs. Herbs have always fascinated me–they are incredibly useful and beautiful plants. I’ve not had a whole lot of time to get into this book, yet–but I have noticed that it is very thourogh and packed with loads of information. It ought to keep me busy for a long time. If only it would actually plant the herbs for me.
These 2 books have quickly become favorites in my gardening collection of books. Not only that, but that workout video? Yeah, it rocks. Granted, I’ve only done 6 Days, and 2 of those days I have been so sore I could barely move. But, I’ve noticed a difference in not only my energy and endurance level, but also a slight change in my body. After only 6 days!
I don’t know what is better, my 3 awesome purchases, or the fact that I didn’t pay a dime out of my pocket for any of it.
Have you joined Swagbucks? If not–don’t delay! Are you looking for an awesome workout video that only takes 20 minutes of your time? You need The Shred. And, if you love to garden, check out those books.
All of the above is working for me, and I couldn’t be happier that I did it the frugal way.

Sweet! I'm glad to hear the Shred is working out so well for you. I've been using the Wii Fit 3 times a week.

Those books sound great. I'm doing the Shred now too thanks to your suggestion. I started Monday so it is still very new but I'm really excited about it. I'm already pretty sore. Hopefully it helps me fit in to my summer clothes again, it isn't very frugal to buy all new shorts so I'm trying to avoid that!
Thanks for the great suggestion.

Thanks for sharing! I love the Shred, it kicks my butt and if I would just do it more consistently… it wouldn't consistently kick my butt each time I do it. LOL

I'm just finding your blog through WFMW. Tomorrow will be day 4 of the Shred for me (which I too bought with swagbucks!), so you're a couple of days ahead of me. I'm going to be having a Mr Linky for any fitness related post tomorrow (Friday, which will be the inaugural carnival) if you're interested in linking up. Looks like you have a pretty popular blog as it is, but if you'd like to play with the little guys
stop by.
We're also DR followers and paid off $13,000 in the first 4.5 months of this year (our line of credit). Now we're moving on to our van (around $11-12K I think?). The thought of being debt free is so EXCITING.
http://www.muddybootsblog.blogspot.com if you want to check out my little carnival.
Good luck with your tomatoes!
