Where Oh Where Did The Menu Plan Go?

by GettingFreedom on April 28, 2009

You might have noticed that I never posted my menu plan yesterday, then again you might not have. Where is it you might ask.

Well…there isn’t one. Yeah, I know, I just committed a “Grocery Budget Slaughter” for sure. Well, hopefully not.

The truth behind it is that last week I was so incredibly busy (I had company 3 out of the 5 days and had to make a replica wedding cake for a surprise anniversary party on the weekend), the weekend was insane (we drove back to the hometown and more) and disappeared before I knew it. I really thought that come Monday morning I would be able to throw one together, but I was wrong! All my menu planning motivation was gone. I couldn’t think of anything I wanted.

So, I am going to attempt something that I haven’t done in quite some time. I’m winging it this week.

Say a prayer for me, would ya?

Winging it isn’t too bad if you have a good supply of “everything” on hand. My problem comes when I want to make something and don’t have the ONE ingredient! I totally know how you feel, though. One week won’t kill your budget :)

Oh Phoebe. Don’t do it. Don’t do it. Take my advice! I went last week to Sam’s without a list and without a plan and spent $100 over what I had intended!!! I was almost in tears when they told me my total. I rarely ever go without a list or plan, and it will be a long time before I do that again! I’m pretty sure you have this whole frugal thing down better than me though, so you’ll probably rock without a plan!

You’re braver than I am. I have a very hard time making do if I don’t have a plan. When our family was smaller, sometimes I could do it, but no longer.

Hope that you have a good week with lots of fun food.

Blessings,
Kimberly

Well, I’m glad you had to wing it this week. It lead you to my blog and the Haddock with Tomatoes and Spinach. I hope you enjoyed it. It is a family favorite here.
