Great tips, we usually don’t start indoor or green house seedlings and just plant directly in ground, living in Texas its hot already, lol.

Hi there,
I have added this handy advice to my article on How to make a propagator to start your seeds.
I have not tried fish oil, but bought organic plant food pellets from B & Q that are pretty stinky - could be fish, could be bonemeal.
My seedlings (now planted out) are looking a bit leggy - perhaps I need to move them.

Can you post some photos on what your cold weather seedlings look like? I am not sure if mine are too leggy, or what they should really look like.

Great post! Now I think you should post what your seedlings look like… I am not sure if mine are too “leggy” or not.

I am probably watering too much. We’ll see. I can put my cold crop out next week, if the ground dries enough. We’ve had rain the past few days.

Hmm..how long ago did you start your marigolds and mint? I'm not familiar with either one, maybe they just take a while to germinate.

Yes, I found it right back with all the other gardening stuff. It was on the top shelf, in a white bottle. It's called Alaska Fish Fertilizer. (oh how I wish I could figure out my camera/computer issue so I could post a pic). It was just under $7--but it just takes like 2Tbsp to a gallon of water. It'll last quite sometime!

Can totally feel your pain! We're in MO as well (south central). It is 70's one day and snowing that weekend. Nutso!

You said you found fish emulsion at Walmart. Was it back with the regular fertilizers? What brand is it? I think I read that fish emulsion is good to add when planting potatoes so I would like to find some.

Thanks for your updates. My seeds are growing. But we are expecting a couple of inches of snow in Mid Missouri this weekend – even though all the trees are flowering – ugghh! Still waiting on Spring in Missouri.
