Today is Day 9 of 14 Days to Clean Home. Yesterday I was miserably sick with a migraine, fever and that feeling in the back of my throat–so I was unable to do any cleaning or post Day 8, which was also bedrooms.
I don’t know about you, but the bedrooms in my home seem to be a sore spot. Not mine, but the children’s.
I remember as a child I used to play in my room all the time. I enjoyed it, I loved re-organizing everything on a regular basis and just being in my space. My kids? Rarely do they spend time in their rooms. They’re always outside, playing games in the dining room, or in the living room doing whatever it is kids do–that is if we’re home. You would think that that would mean that they had spotless bedrooms, right? Wrong!
Their rooms are terrible! And it makes me crazy!
They’ll stay clean for about a week and then it’s like a bomb went off and you can’t see the floor or the top of any surface. I have no idea how it gets that way. It doesn’t matter if I strip their rooms down to next-to-nothing–it still looks that way after a while.
Here’s today’s plan:
- Go through toys. Get rid of any broken/unwanted toys.
- Bring in Seasonal Clothing Stash. Try on/Get Rid of clothes that don’t fit.
- Dust Furniture.
- Clean out under beds/Closets.
Blake was still in bed when these photos were taken, so I do not have a before of their bedroom–which is probably a good thing! And I totally forgot about our bedroom!
Here goes nothing! If you don’t hear from me, call in reinforcements, okay?
